Privacy and confidentiality

We are ethically committed and legally required to protect your personal information. We will collect personal information from you prior to assessment and treatment. We collect, use and share this information under the authority of CPTBC by laws, health profession act and Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

Your personal information is kept highly confidential; we only use and share it with your lawyers, doctors, and other health professional providing care for you with your consent. We may at times call you to confirm your information and for follow up. We may also use your information for research purpose with your consent and also use it for billing and account payment purpose (MSP and other insurance companies) Your personal information may also be disclosed to other authorized individuals as required by law (e.g. to respond to a court order).

Services not covered by MSP

MSP cover 10 visit of Physio therapy for Low income group. However there is a user fee involved, that patient has to pay. LASER Therapy is not covered by MSP, but for low income patient, we include that as part of treatment in Physiotherapy if required.

Physiotherapy Assessment:

Physiotherapist will perform a detailed assessment, which may involve asking questions, observing specific body movements and posture, measuring joint range of motions(ROM), assessing musculus-skeletal, nervous, circulatory system and doings special test required for assessment. You have the right and free will to ask any questions before, during and after assessment and you can stop assessment process at any time.

Physiotherapy Treatment:

Physiotherapist will provide physiotherapy treatment for your condition, which may include, but not be limited to Electro modality, LASER, exercise, manual therapy, manipulation, intra-muscular stimulation (IMS)/ Functional dry needling (FDN), and
acupuncture. You will be informed to your satisfaction and answered all questions/concerns about your condition, treatment indication, contraindication, procedure, Alternative treatment, risk, implications and consequences (post effect) and dangers of treatment.

Please understand that you have to comply with Physiotherapist suggestions for exercises and precautions in-order to get maximum benefit out of treatment. If you have sensitivity to personal space, any specific religious and cultural beliefs and values that may impede treatment, please let therapist know prior to treatment. Similarly, please maintain a professional relationship with the clinic team members. You have the right and free will to stop treatment any time you like. If you do not understand something, you have the right to ask again.

Most of appointments take 30 min to 1 hour. Although there is no per-established limit on to number of issues you might have, we might be able to deal with only a few in one session. Please discuss your most important problem first. Try to limit your problems per visit to fit within the time constrain. If you need longer appointment, let us know and we will book you accordingly. However there might be a fee associated with it.

You are welcome to book another appointment at a future date until all your concerns have been addressed. Follow up visits are equally important. This is, one of the things that make the difference between having a regular family physiotherapist verses not having one.

Payment and Cancellation/No show Policy:

It is very important that you clarify your coverage prior to initiating physiotherapy treatment to ensure you are reimbursed to your full expectation.

Clients are responsible for full payment of their physiotherapy service. Please remember that, if any third party coverage regarding your treatment is refused, that you remain solely responsible for the payment to the physiotherapist or clinic for all outstanding services rendered and/or supplies provided.

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. It is important that you arrive a few minutes before each treatment time, in order to prepare. If you do arrive late you will be seen only for the remainder of your scheduled time. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the therapists’ day that could have been filled by another patient, who is in desperate need of treatment. As such, the clinic requires 24 hours notice for any cancellations or changes to your appointment. Patient’s who provide less than 24 hours notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a FULL COST OF THE APPOINTMENT as cancellation or no show fee.

Violence:

We will not tolerate any verbal or physical violent act to our staff member and clinic. You may be handed over to Police and restricted entry into clinic in future.

Personal Belongings:

The clinic can not be held responsible for any loss of damage to personal belongings.

Cardiac Pacemaker, Medical Conditions:

Clients with Cardiac pacemakers, or other medical conditions/ infections should notify their therapist prior to the initial assessment.
